Mitch and Jon Martin
Mitch is a 1973 graduate of Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree and a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He enjoys spending time in the outdoors with his family and friends, particularly his grandchildren. Mitch and his wife Candi (Wendt) were united in marriage in 1972 and have spent most of their life immersed in the Washington community. He is a past member of The Washington Optimist Club, a past member of the Four Rivers YMCA board of directors and is active in Hope Masonic Lodge and the Washington Sunrise Community Club. In addition, he is a member of the Washington Historical Society and has served with various community boards and organizations.
Mitch holds a Series 7, Series 24, and Series 51 held with LPL Financial as well as life, health, and variable insurance licenses. In 2008, St. Louis Magazine named Mitch a “Five Star Best in Client Satisfaction Wealth Manager”. The Five Star Wealth Manager is an award based on client satisfaction. Respondents evaluate criteria such as customer service, expertise, value for fee charged, and overall satisfaction. The overall score is based on an average of all respondents and may not be representative of any one client’s experience.
Jon began his career with Steamboat Financial Group in 2006 and has served as the firm’s Vice President since 2011. As a Wealth Advisor at Steamboat, Jon advocates for his client’s financial goals and dreams. His financial advising philosophy is to educate clients so that everyone understands the approach and meaning behind their investment strategy. Jon believes that the client/advisor relationship has to be founded on trust and respect, which can only be achieved through open and honest dialogue. That is a core belief of Jon as an advisor and of Steamboat Financial as a whole.
As an investor, Jon has put his communication and education beliefs into practice with the creation of his10 Point Investment Management Process. This process helps to design a path tailored to each client and ensures that everyone is on the same page. Mutual expectations are key to a successful client/advisor relationship.
Jon holds his Series 7, Series 66 with LPL Financial, Health, and Life, andProperty and Casualty licenses. In addition, he has a CFS (Certified Fund Specialist) designation from the Institute of Business and Finance and a PPC (Professional Plan Consultant), a designation that signifies a commitment to service excellence, from Financial Service Standards a division of fi360, Inc.
Jon and his wife Andrea live in Franklin County with their son Maxwell, daughter Ella and two dogs, Mike and Ike. Jon is past president of the Union Area Chamber of Commerce and a past president of the Union Rotary Club. He continues to serve as a Rotary Club board member and is a past member of the City of Unions Board of Adjustments.
Outside of the office Jon likes to be outdoors participating in golf league, hunting and fishing and is very excited for Max and Ella to be old enough to introduce to the great outdoors.
