It’s officially been a year since the COVID-19 pandemic sent much of the world into lockdown. As a healthcare service provider, we feel we owe it to everyone we’ve worked with to take a moment to reflect on the challenges of the year. And we would be remiss if we did not start such a message with a massive thank you to everyone in the ATC family who has worked hard to keep medical facilities afloat when they needed help the most, particularly our healthcare workers who staffed medical facilities across the country as they struggled to keep up with the surging demand for healthcare workers. And to our franchisees, who buckled down and stayed flexible during what has been one of the most challenging years many of us have experienced.
As a company, we’re proud of the way we responded to a global pandemic that had an impact nobody could have predicted. We amped up the training we offer to provide additional COVID-19 specific guidance for those working in medical facilities. We prioritized supplying personal protective equipment (PPE) to our healthcare staff members and made sure they knew to make their own safety the highest priority.
And, while many were still reeling from the sudden nationwide shutdown, we sprang into action to come up with a way to help Americans beyond staffing medical facilities — we launched a brand new company division called ATC Testing and Screening Services to help keep up with the incredibly high demand for COVID-19 testing. Launching this service allowed us to employ thousands of healthcare associates who were not deployed at medical facilities and who may have been furloughed without this new opportunity.
At ATC Healthcare Services, we take great pride in taking care of people, including our healthcare staff, our franchisees, and those they are able to help with their expertise and compassion. We’re overjoyed that we can take care of our people as they continue to assist healthcare facilities in their quest to protect the country during this pandemic.
